Happy New Year, Readers!

Glad to see you made it into 2019. I had no idea we were going from one year to another.

I knew because Mom put a new cat calendar on the wall. She said the calendar is kind of sad this time ‘cuz it’s the last time she’ll get one from her friend. She got a call today and was told he passed away last night. Mom says it really puts a damper on celebrating a new year.

However, Mom also said that we have no known schedule that tells us exactly how long we have on this side of The Rainbow Bridge, and that goes for us fur people as well.

We don’t mean to be all down and sad today, but we do have to face facts. People and fur people are still hurting. There’s fighting, even between me and Steinbeck.

But that’s not real fighting. I just like to torment you to get your attention.

MOL!!! I know that. But there is sadness in the world and we can choose to focus on it, or be thankful for each moment we get and try to spread happiness.

I like that option. Each day of cold snowy weather gets us closer to summer when the catnip will be growing again.

Yes, and each smile you give to someone else, gets passed along to others.

Don’t forget hugs and scritches.

Right you are. See, that’s focusing on good things that make us happy. If we’re happy, it will spill over onto others and they will be happy.

Mom doesn’t like it when I spill things.

That’s not what I mean. This is something you would like to spill. It’s like looking outside, seeing the sunshine bouncing off the winter landscape, and being thankful you’re inside by the fire. It’s that warm cozy feeling you like to share with others.

Mom, we’re sorry you lost your friend. Maybe he’ll find Shakespeare and tell him hi.

For now, we’ll soak up the sunshine and let it spill all over the place and maybe some of it will reach you, dear readers.  May 2019 be gentle and kind to all of you.

Happy Caturday, everyone.

We have sunshine!!!

It’s been forever since we’ve seen the sun shining.  We’re all loving this bright light.

It’s about time someone changed the batteries so the sun could shine again.

So, Mom took this picture of us and turned it into this piece of art for the Caturday Blog Hop.

We hope you like it!  Mom thinks it shows we must be related ‘cuz some of my ginger furs seem to leak over into Hemingway’s furs.

We are NOT related.  I’m a Tuxedo and I’m regal.  You’re a Ginger and you’re crazy.

Happy Selfie Sunday to everyone!  We are totally covered by the white stuff.  We think the angels must have had some awesome pillow fights the past few days.  Seems like we’ve had lots of storms of white here the past week.  Mom didn’t even have to go to choir practice one night ‘cuz of all the falling white stuff.

So…….we put our kitty heads together and decided to make this a Sunny Selfie.

I got really scared yesterday.  When I looked outside there was a very bright light out there.  I couldn’t figure out what it was.  I didn’t want Mom to go out there, but she did!

What are you babbling about, Steinbeck?  You know perfectly well that the bright light was the sun!

But we hadn’t seen it for so long.  I thought maybe it had left for good.  That’s why the bright light scared me!

Don’t worry, Steinbeck.  I’m here to take care of you.  That’s what big brothers are for!

P1040425No, I won’t look at the camera.  It wasn’t my fault.  I blame it on my kitty traits!  All of us were outside today enjoying the nice weather and sunshine.  Mom found some fresh catnip growing so she got some for us.  It was an awesome outdoors picnic.  Then Mom was busy talking to the neighbor so I figured I better do my own hunting for more catnip.  I was down in my “hidey corner” and Mom and the neighbor, and even the dog knew it.  Suddenly I put my wings in motion and flew over the fence.  Just as quickly Mom yelled at me and I flew right back over the fence into out yard.  I could hear Mom and the neighbor laughing as Hemingway chased me into the house.  Good grief humans………ever hear of curiosity????  I just wanted to see if the neighbors were growing catnip, too!
