Happy Weekend, everyone!!  Mom doesn’t have to go to that work place today so she can play with us.  She said I could be the star today.  She used one of my pictures when I went outside a couple of weeks ago.  (That was when the angels had their ovens turned on and it was warm.  Now they’ve got their freezer doors open again and it’s really cold!)  Anyway, this is the picture:

She used LunaPic and gave it a thermal effect.  Then she added beveled edges.  This is what happened:

Hemingway says it looks psychedelic…….whatever that means!  I think it looks cute.  Thanks, Mom!

Mom said that today, March 2nd, I am 9 months old.  When she got me, I was just a little tiny thing and now I have a fluffy tummy and I’m getting longer and longer!

Mom, are you writing about me?

The Mom:  Yes, Steinbeck, I’m telling your readers that it’s a special day for you.

Am I older than Hemingway now?

No, Hemingway’s age is counted in years and your age is still counted in months.

When do I get to be years?

In another three months.  On June 2nd you will be one year old!

Then can I go out on dates?

No, you can’t leave the yard.

Did you really just tell the readers that I can’t go out of the yard?  You make me sound like such a baby!  Where’s the delete button???

Don’t worry, Steinbeck.  They all know that you are getting to be a big boy.  I love you and wish you a Happy 9 Months Birthday!

Howdy, Readers!!!  I had an adventure today and Mom said I could tell you all about it.  First of all, she said I have to explain that this is February and this is Minnesota and this weather just doesn’t seem right.  The humans are even going to have a BBQ this afternoon when they should be bundled up in jackets and shoveling snow!    Since this is my first February, I have no idea what the weather is supposed to be.  Well, I got to go outside and I had fun!!!

I did it!  I went outside to explore and feel the sun on my furs.

This is how I started.  I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be inside or outside, so I chose both!

Mom put one of my favorite boxes outside so I could hide.  Now nobody can see me.

Mom says this is my lion pose and she loves it!

Now go visit the Sunday Selfies of my other friends.

Never fear, readers!  I have not taken up smoking!  That’s only bubbles I’m blowing.  Mom decided to have some fun with one of my photos.  She can’t even remember what all she did!  You have to forgive her ‘cuz she’s a human.  (I’m really cracking myself up today!)

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!  Don’t forget to check out everyone else at the Caturday Art Blog Hop!

I was just running around doing my normal stuff the other night.  First I chewed on some of my toys.  Then I tried to chew on Mom’s foot.  Then I jumped up on top of the computer desk and tried to chew on the corner of it.

Then I found some paper to chew on.  It was kind of shiny and it made noise.  When I got tired of it, I tried to chew on an empty box.

That’s about the time Mom told me something that I didn’t understand at all!!!  She said I had beaver jeans.  I know Mom wears jeans sometimes but I don’t know if they’re beaver jeans or not.  What are beaver jeans?  I don’t wear any jeans…..beaver or otherwise.  Why would Mom say something like that?

And by the way…………..what is a beaver???

It’s cold and snowy outside so I’m just going to curl up inside and stay warm.  If you see that guy in the red suit, please tell him not to forget me!  I wasn’t even born last year so he may not realize I’m here now.  I promise I’ve been good………….well, most of the time!

Mom said I get to post my Caturday Art today since she forgot that yesterday was my special day.  Yep!  I am now six months old!!  Mom can’t believe how fast I’m growing.

I can’t believe that you aren’t getting any smarter!

Hemingway, that’s not nice.  I can’t believe you’re getting chunkier!

Sorry, Hemingway….

Sorry, Steinbeck…..

Anyway, here’s my picture for Caturday  Art.

I’m sure the boys are going to be upset with me but we’re not doing Caturday Art today.  There’s something else I would like to share with their readers.  All along I’ve felt that Steinbeck was a very special replacement for Shakespeare.  Of course Hemingway is just plain special!  (Can’t have any jealousy problems!)

Steinbeck, I just love that fluffy tummy and those little pink paws!!!

When people have come to the house, Steinbeck has been a little scared.  He eventually warms up, but it takes a bit of time.  Shakespeare would eventually come and talk to most people and he would let them pet him but that’s all.  My sister, Marsha, is a special adult.  We always have her come home for family events, including Thanksgiving.  I had told her that Shakespeare was gone and that I had a new kitty so I was anxious to see how they reacted to each other.  She had lost her kitty about a year ago.  Scout had come from the Animal Humane Society where Marsha often volunteers.  She goes over and pets the kitties and brushes them.  That’s how she met Scout and ended up adopting her.  Of course both of mine are also from the Humane Society and Marsha talks about that all the time.  Now Steinbeck is all kitten and he has sharp claws and teeth.  I knew Marsha wouldn’t like that.  I had a long talk with Steinbeck and told him to to hurt Marsha.  I also warned Marsha.  Silly me!!!

dsc_0675Marsha walked into the house and sat down and look who jumped up in her lap right away!  I couldn’t believe it.  Steinbeck walks all over me but he doesn’t often settle down in my lap!  Those two were buddies right away!  Marsha hadn’t been able to get close to Shakespeare like that ‘cuz Shakespeare was always very independent.  Steinbeck is different.

dsc_0674Marsha loved picking up Steinbeck and holding him and he loved it, too.  Hemingway is too heavy for Marsha to pick up so this little ball of fur was perfect for her.  She got a real dose of kitten time and it was fun watching those two.

Steinbeck adapted to Marsha instantly.  It was as if he knew she was special and that she was a gentle soul.  I’m so amazed by animals all the time, but this happened right in front of my eyes and in my home.  I’ll never forget!!!

MOM!!!  I’ve been thinking and thinking and my brain is really sore.  I just can’t figure out what happened.  It started off as a normal morning and then I looked outside!

Where did all the color go?  What is all that white stuff?  Did the angels have a big pillow fight and all their pillows exploded?  Were they busy baking pumpkin pies and spilled flour everywhere?  Did Hemingway do something he wasn’t supposed to do?  Did we move?  I thought so long and hard about this that I almost made myself sick!
